The class in society which most influences its direction is the intellectual class.

These are not the scholars, scientists or experts. Rather, they are the educated upper middle class who know a little bit about this and a little bit about that and believe that they are superior to the masses and equals with the scholars, scientists and experts.

They are often referred to as the 'Chattering Class's' because it is nearly impossible to shut them up.

Inevitably, and almost always tragically, the views they hold today will be absorbed by the masses tomorrow.

To cite just one example, it is this chattering class which is pushing this country in the direction of Democratic Socialism.
